Hello Expo TV. Today I'm reviewing another movie that's in my top five favorite movies Une Femme Est Une Femme. I cannot speak French. My French is really bad so in English that title means a woman is a woman. Now this is a movie by the famed director Jean-Luc Godard and it's starring Anna Karina and a couple of other French people 'coz it's a French movie. Godard usually shot in black and white but this was a colored film which was very different for him and nowhere from -- you know he thought of it very differently. He uses the color very nicely and I enjoyed this film. I really liked the editing and I really liked the music and I just love this movie. It's so perfect in my opinion. This is the Criterion Collection Disc so it comes with this you know booklet that has like you know some film people writing about the film and stuff. There are also a lot of cool you know like pictures and a couple of other short films on this disc. I mean Criterion you know really gives you a lot of good stuff on you know one disc. What is the movie about you ask? It doesn't have that much of a plot really. Anna Karina who is very pretty she -- it's just about her being a woman you know. It's kinda of like Godard's view of women which I guess isn't very nice 'coz this character Ana Karina is just like Hmm. I want a baby. Hmm. but she says that in French. And it's just you know it's really well shot and it's a cute movie. I could watch this movie over and over. It's kinda expensive though. I think it usually goes for $25.00 to $35.00.

Summary
One of the landmark early films of the French New Wave, director Jean-Luc Godard ( Breathless ) weaves a tale of desperation and deceit. Anna Karina ( Vivre Sa Vie ) plays a stripper determined to have a child in the hopes that it will better her life. She tries in vain to convince her rough, selfish boyfriend (Jean-Paul Belmondo) to father the child, but he refuses. In desperation and sparked by anger she turns to his best friend to father the child, setting off a new round of recrimination and betrayal. Une Femme Est une Femme is one of Godard's first films and essential viewing for fans of the Nouvelle Vague , to chart the beginnings of the detached mood and style that influenced a coming generation of films. --Robert Lane
