a review of the airlink wireless g cardbus adapter - good performance, mediocre range
ExpoTV has thousands of reviews from people just like you!
Hi, this is the review for the Airlink Super G Wireless Cardbus Adapter. This is a PCMCIA card that you put into your notebook to enable your wireless. This adapter isn't as good as some of the other one's I've seen because the reception that you get isn't that great. I mean you could be probably, you know, 20 feet away from the router and you only can get, you know, 3 or 4 bars of signal where as in other PCMCIA adapters you could be probably 40 feet away and you will still get the 4 or 5 bars of reception. So the reception on this is an issue. Otherwise, it's -- when you do get good signal the transfer rate is pretty good. So as long as you are not going to be too far away from the router or, you know, the wireless source then this is a pretty good PCMCIA card to buy. It is relatively inexpensive, that's the reason why this probably sells more than the other ones. So for the -- for the value, it's -- for the price it's a good value. But if you plan on really being on the road where, you know, you're taking your notebook really far away from your wireless, then I'll probably buy the other one. --
