Hi, I'm reviewing Aperture photo management software for; Hi, I'm reviewing Aperture by Apple. This is their kind of Pro Version of iPhoto, the program that you would use to organize your pictures. Aperture is actually really cool. It used to be really expensive. It used to be $500 and at that price, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to make the investment in it. I had kind of looked at the demos and it looked really cool, but I didn't want to try $500 on it. Well, what Apple did recently in the past couple of months, they dropped it to $300. And that $300 is still a little pricy, but it's not quite as out of reach. And if you are a student, you can get it for $150, which is actually a great deal. The audience, this is basically made for either professional photographers or serious kind of, serious amateur photographers that are into like taking a lot of pictures with probably a digital SLR camera. And you know, I was a little bit skeptical at first whether or not I needed this or not. But I got a really good deal once that I bought it. And ever since I started using it, you know, I can't believe how I kind of got by without it. It does streamline your work flow for your pictures very much. In iPhoto, it probably would have taken me 2, 3, 4 maybe ten times longer to do the same type of things in Aperture. And the things that I like about it is that assigning keywords is very easy, assigning ratings is very easy, the adjustments are very quick, and they are a lot more fine tuning than you could in iPhoto. And just going through the process of downloading your pictures from your memory card to getting the pictures that you want, that you are happy with and uploading them somewhere is very fast. You know, I can usually do a set of pictures of maybe 100, 150 in a couple of hours or even less. And the nice thing is that, not only do I get to pick the pictures but I've already assigned key words and I've assigned ratings and so later on when I want to go back, I can easily find those pictures. And so, you know, now that I've used it for a while I really love it. And so if you are kind of in the same boat as I'm where you are taking a lot of pictures, Aperture is definitely a program that you should look into. Obviously it only runs on a Mac, so you have to have a Mac in order to run it. But if you do shoot a lot of pictures, check it out, Aperture by Apple.
