    Transcript of Video Review

So if you are in a household that speaks two languages or you want to teach your child a second language this is a great DVD to get them accustomed to the different you know the different languages and the different some works that Meet the Orchestra. It has the classic puppets that the Baby Einstein movies are famous for. And it also has the music. What says this one assigned from the other Baby Einstein movies. This is actually introduces the baby or your toddler introduces them to the different instruments that are played in an orchestra. So you know they know what sounds which instrument is made and what they are called and then they can learn what they are called in different languages. So again like I said if you know speak to different languages in your home this is a great way to teach them both languages. You can play it one and then play it the other. I'm gonna show you a quick clip. Now here is one of the puppets playing the trumpet. And then here comes another one of the puppets. Baby's love the puppets. And they just love the music. My son enjoys the Baby Einstein movies and my nephew especially enjoys them. They are about the same age. I think my nephew enjoys more than my son but they are still a great movie. So as you can see it interviews the brass section and it shows not just the instrument names but what section they belong to. So I think it is a great DVD. I am going to show you the actual DVD because I don't have the case anymore. I just had too many cases to keep up with. There you go it is Baby Einstein Meet the Orchestra and highly recommend it.

    Summary
Adults may think it's too early to teach a baby the difference between a trumpet and a bugle, but Baby Einstein: Meet the Orchestra--First Instruments entertains children with its next music installment. Relying on its tried-and-true formula of bright colors, quick-paced format, and almost no dialogue (except to repeat names and identify groups by section: brass, woodwinds, strings, and so forth), First Instruments flashes the instrument and its name on the screen, demonstrates how it sounds, and shows animated characters, puppets, babies, youth, and grown-ups all performing on (and enjoying) it. It then combines instruments for a few classical numbers. The jazzy rendition of Beethoven's "Fur Elise" is questionable (it would be nicer to teach kids appreciation for the real thing). Bonus features include instrument flash cards, several puppet shows, a featurette teaching more about music, and additional orchestral numbers. A nice diversion for your little maestro-to-be. Ages 1 year and up. --Ellen A. Kim
