Hello I'm here to review the film Braveheart -- Mel Gibson. You maybe want to see where my taste line with regards to Braveheart as you see in my wall behind me here. I love this film. I saw this film in the theater when it came out in 1994 and it really changed my life just -- as far as how I viewed movies and since I do that kind of thing for a living now it really put me where I am and hopefully it will continue to you know inspire me in the future. I love the film. It's the story of William Wallace. It's a vaguely based on the real life story of the real William Wallace who was a freedom fighter in Scotland in middle ages who fought against the British for Scottish independence and -- well it didn't happen in his lifetime. It did get there eventually and do in a small part to him. This takes those events and mixes them the real events with the poetic writings of the guy name Blind Harry who chronicled the life of William Wallace after -- long after he died and then kind of the local legends of William Wallace and put them all together and comes up with a very cinema friendly version of the William Wallace story and this is one of the Mel Gibson's best for all. It really showcases you know his two sides the common of his side and his acting in a more dramatic side and you know in every movie he has to be in pain sometimes and he gets some good William Wallace injured team as well because Mel Gibson got to do that 'coz he does being in pain very well right better than any other actor. There's a great commentary track on this film where you learn a lot of just like the little secrets that he used that you know even if you watch the movie you doesn't --doesn't sometimes as I have you still you would never have noticed them. There's a little behind the scenes and some trailers and interactive menus. You believe that? Like you press the button and the menu just responds to what you wanted to do. Anyhow Braveheart -- winner best picture in 1995 best director great film. I really really recommend it. There has been a lot of movies like it sounds that's gonna be quite as shocking or thrilling as it was then but I think it still holds up and I think you just give it a try.

Summary
Mel Gibson's Oscar-winning 1995 Braveheart is an impassioned epic about William Wallace, the 13th-century Scottish leader of a popular revolt against England's tyrannical Edward I (Patrick McGoohan). Gibson cannily plays Wallace as a man trying to stay out of history's way until events force his hand, an attribute that instantly resonates with several of the actor's best-known roles, especially Mad Max . The subsequent camaraderie and courage Wallace shares in the field with fellow warriors is pure enough and inspiring enough to bring envy to a viewer, and even as things go wrong for Wallace in the second half, the film does not easily cave in to a somber tone. One of the most impressive elements is the originality with which Gibson films battle scenes, featuring hundreds of extras wielding medieval weapons. After Eisenstein's Alexander Nevsky , Orson Welles's Chimes at Midnight , and even Kenneth Branagh's Henry V , you might think there is little new that could be done in creating scenes of ancient combat; yet Gibson does it. --Tom Keogh
