The Brother HL-2040 as you can see it s a laser printer. It prints out fine. This little attachment is kind of flimsy but it does its job as long as you don t. It starts bending down if you get too much paper on there but it takes a lot to get too much paper on there. This little printer has worked fine for me. It s still available at OfficeMax and other type of companies like that. The only problem with this printer is this little input tray right here. If you don t have the paper aligned just right it has a tendency to load them sideways so your print comes out crooked. Not a major problem but you have to get the part stuck when you load it for such as business cards and stuff like that just right. It has to be aligned perfectly and you have to hold the tabs just right. Otherwise it comes out crooked and then your printout is crooked and that s no good. The tray feeds just fine at normal paper. It holds up to 250 as it says it does. The printout quality has been excellent. It s fast. It s (inaudible) (1:18) fast as the label says it is and it s been an okay printer. Purchased relatively cheap. You can find them at different retailers for under $100 bucks. The toner cartridge almost costs you what the printer costs. That s one of the downfalls for a laser printer. It is nice for you if you don t use it constantly. It doesn t dry up like inkjets do. I ve had many different inkjets and I don t print out enough to make it worthwhile to keep the ink from drying up on me and when I go to print I have to clean the head and there was a lot of ink. This has been a lot more economical to run as most laser printer enthusiasts would note. The only problem is it doesn t do color. But for what I use it for that s not a major problem because I use it for invoicing and for other stuff like that. I use it for printing out my envelopes. It does load envelopes okay but it sometimes come out crooked as well because of the front tray issue. Not very often with the envelopes because the tray s input Instead of actually showing where the paper should go they move. Well again it s been a good printer and a good value. Have a great day.
