Hi this is Jeff with another what I hope will be a helpful review. Today I am reviewing the Canon EOS Rebel XTi digital camera. The Rebel XTi is a 10-megapixel digital SLR single lens reflex camera. The advantage of the single lens reflex is changeable lenses and that s the big deal. It s more like a traditional 35 mm camera. It is not a point-and-shoot camera. This is a 10-megapixel camera so there is definitely no shortage of the amount of sizes that you can print from this. You can go from 3x5 all the way up to 24 inch poster size prints. You have more than enough resolution to do that. The camera is very simple to operate. You turn the on switch to on. I always highly recommend it to take the lens cap off and there are several program modes at the top of the camera. You can go from fully automatic all the way to fully manual. Today we re gonna set it in fully automatic denoted by the green square and then we re ready to shoot. Unlike traditional point-and-shoot cameras it does have an LCD on the back but the LCD is not used for actually composing the shot. The traditional SLRs don t work that way. You actually have to hold the camera up to your eye in order to take the picture so you can see that is a disadvantage. It s just the nature of SLRs. It s only now coming around with some of the newest newest leading edge cameras have that ability. So you hold the camera up focus the flash will pop up if you need it and take the picture. Once you got the picture taken it ll pop up for a second but it comes down pretty quickly so simply hit the play button right next to the screen which I ll pay attention to actually doing and you can see I took a picture of our camera setup here. It s a very simple camera to operate. It takes Compact Flash Memory. You open up the door on the side of the camera and the eject button the memory slides out and you have your memory card. This is a 2-Gig card. It takes sizes currently up to 8 Gigs in size. Slide the card back in and you are ready to take pictures. The camera is that simple to operate. Once you become more advanced in your camera usage you can switch to fully manual which like a traditional SLR gives you full control over your f-stop and your exposure time. If you re interested in having multiple lenses that is certainly something you can do. I ll put the lens cap back on here. And all you simply do is press the button push the cam lens the lens slides off. We will grab our replacement lens and take it back off of it and slide the new lens into place and twist and we have the new lens on and take the lens cap off. Now the camera looks quite different. This is a 50-mm prime lens not nearly as long but still certainly a usable lens on this camera. So your lens options are almost infinite. I highly recommend this camera. I have had it for a while. The image quality has been fantastic. It s got an auto cleaning sensor so you don t have to worry about dust falling on the sensor and ruining your shots for you. There are many other advanced features that you can learn as you become more advanced in your photography but they also have managed to keep it simple for somebody that just wants to take pictures. So this is the Canon Rebel XTi Digital SLR. Until next time this is Jeff saying see you later.
