Hi this is a review for this Casio FX-115ES Scientific Calculator. Now if you're an engineer and your taking the FE Exam or the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam there's only a small list of calculators that you're allowed to use and this is one of them. It's not a graphing calculator so it can't graph anything but it does have a lot of advanced functions such as calculus. You can find the integrals using this calculator. I think it's the best one in terms of functions and stuff. I got this at about $17-$18 at Wal-Mart so it's not too expensive either. As you can see it's a pretty basic type of calculator with a slide-on hard case which is nice. It has a two-line display which is what I like about it. So like you enter 4 plus 6 equals ten and that's how it will come up. Of course it has all your standard functions: add subtract there's like trig functions log functions you know all kinds of things like that. It also has matrix algebra operations. Another good thing about this calculator is that it has a fraction display. This is the fraction button here. So you can do fractions like that 5 Also when you find your answers it will give it to you in fraction form. So if I tried it with four divided by five like that equals and the answer it will give me is 4 So this is a pretty god calculator in terms of functionality but I don't know it just feels kind of weird when I use this calculator. Like it's not very intuitive I guess. For example like the negative signs over here and to press Pi you have to do shift and then press this X10x button here. I think it might be because before I used it this calculator I used to use a TI 83Plus so I was really used to using that so when I changed to this calculator I guess it was just I wasn't really used to it. So if you're using like a Texas Instruments calculator this might be a little confusing for you to use. It might not be very intuitive but if you're looking for a good scientific calculator no preference for brand or anything I would definitely recommend getting this Casio FX-115ES.
