This is a Costco convertible car seat We didn t realize that it only uses the shoulder harnesses until the child is 40 pounds and then it is just a booster seat. And I feel that children should be in five-point harness system as long as possible. So you don t I am not going to use a booster seat. When she outgrows her current Brytex Wizard we will get one of the car seats that are for bigger kids with the five-point harness. But that aside this is a reasonably good car seat for a spare car seat. As you can see there are two separate shoulder harness adjustment heights. It is a five-point harness which I insist on when I am with my kids. And there is a plastic shoulder adjuster there that fit right on the armpit level. It is pretty to hook in. the seatbelt that goes right through here and just pull it through and lock it. It also has the bracket system which all new car seats have. And to use it as a booster seat you could take the harness out. And the seatbelt will go right across here. And you would hook the seatbelt. Do these on the sides and lock the seatbelt. As I said we won t be using it for that. But it would work for that if you want. This belt is use to adjust the height if the shoulder strap. So you just pull it and then when you need to raise it again you just push it down while you pull on the straps with your other hand. It cost about $38 at Wal-Mart. I give it two out of five stars because it really wasn t good for us at all.
