Deep Blue Sea

Try some fish sticks instead, this is just not a good movie. Way to many horro cliches and not enough horror. An unfunny bird doesnt make things any easier to swallow.

Hello I'm Michael and welcome to Lazer Light here on expotv. The DVD up on the screen and up for review is Deep Blue Sea. Several hundred miles off the coast of California an aquatic research station is doing research on sharks. Shark brains to be exact. It seems the brain secreted protein that just may be the cure for Alzheimer's. Unfortunately for the researchers two bad things are about to happen. One with the sharks and a second one with an approaching storm. Just what will happen? Well let's take a look and find out. Deep Blue Sea is a horror movie about sharks except there is very little horror in this movie. Kind of always see the shark he's got a big fin and he's mostly swimming the surface of the water. That just didn't work for me. Another thing that didn't work for me at no time did I believe that any of the actors in this movie was actually a scientist. I just couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to believe that Thomas Jane and LL Cool J would actually be out of this island. They kinda look like Thomas Jane and LL Cool J. Samuel L. Jackson appears but he's just kind of playing Samuel L. Jackson screaming yelling although he does have a really depth. This movie is rated R mostly for the fact that there is a bird that swears. When you have to rely on the comedic talents of a bird in your movie well you know the rest. Deep Blue Sea is going to get deep sixth by me. I'm going to give it only two stars. This movie 5 is rated R it's in anamorphic widescreen and there are some extras on it including the always useless extra of stills from the movie. Boy that's an exciting extra that I want to watch. I would say that the Samuel L. Jackson commentary is fairly interesting to sit through and you should probably listen to that instead of watching the movie itself. I'm gonna go turn this one off and I'll see you at my next review. Thank you.
