Pros: Compelling story, Based on a true story, manages to fit a few funny moments into an otherwise laughless subject

Defiance was one of the best movies I've seen in quite a while. The movie is pretty gritty, but that is not unexpected when dealing with the subject matter of secret jewish resistance force in Nazi occupied territory. There are a few laughs in the film, though mostly the movie is simply a "grip you and not let go" style survival film. The simultaneous plots involving the conflicting brothers pushes the movie over the top.
