Does the Panasonic DVX100B shoot video in true wide screen 16:9 format?

Sadly no. It shoots in a 16:9 squeeze mode - records the video in a squezed aspect ratio and then displays it correctly. Despite this, once imported into Premiere or Final Cut and because of the wider lens on the camera, one really can't tell the difference.
