Hi Today I'm reviewing the special edition DVD of the movie Dogma. (movie clip) It's a very funny movie directed by Kevin Smith. It's part of his series. It's probably I think the fourth in the series after Clerks Mallrats Chasing Amy and then this movie. They're kind of sent in the same universe where some of the actors played different characters throughout the different movies but they're all connected by the characters Jay and Silent Bob. The movie stars Linda Fiorentino as mortal who is chosen by an angel the voice of God played by Alan Rickman to save the world from two rouge angels who basically are unwillingly about to destroy the world. Those two angels are played by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon who obviously have great chemistry together. They're very funny when they're around each other. The movie also stars Salma Hayek Jason Lee Chris Rock and of course Jason Mewes as Jay and Kevin Smith himself as Silent Bob. The movie is very funny. When I first saw it I actually watched this several times when we got the VHS. It's really funny. It's a decent movie adventure too. It's kind of insulting I suppose if you're any kind of into the Catholic Dogma but if you're not and if you can take the joke about this sure thing it's very funny. There are very hysterical religious references throughout the whole movie. Overall I recommend it. I give the movie four out of five stars. The DVD is exceptional this special edition. There is a single disc edition out there but it's not nearly as complete. It has casting crew commentary commentary with the second technical crew some other bonus features as well as Disc 2 which contains a set of storyboards over a 100 minutes of deleted scenes hilarious casting crew outtakes and the theatrical trailer. It's a very exceptional DVD. I definitely give that DVD itself a five out of five stars and I highly recommend this move if you've never seen it before.
