Hi. Today I'm going to be reviewing the game Final Fantasy VII for PlayStation 1. Even though it is designed for the PS1, it can be played on a PS2 if you have a PS1 memory card still. This game came out in 1997, surprisingly still holds up as one of the greatest games of all time. The graphics and the sound quality definitely do look and sound dated; but what we tried this game for was the game play itself and the storyline. It's an RPG game that features surprisingly in depth and complex story and ties actually directly into a recently released film, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. The game play itself is very in depth as well. Even though I spent countless hours playing it; there's a lot more mini-games and secrets I haven't unlocked yet. It can be played - this game - for years and years. For it's time, it was a really revolutionary type game because it features a real-time term base fighting system. So even though it's a term base RPG like traditional RPGs, it's in real time, so there's a countdown timer, so it feels almost like an action game hybrid. If you can get passed the graphical limitations in the game and the sound quality, you're really in store for a great game; one of the greatest of all time.
