Small GPS receiver, great for use on bikes, hikes, motorcycles, etc. - very lightweight and small, runs on two AAA batteries, which last 6-8 hours. Optional bike-mount is a good idea if you RIDE. Shows miles per hour, distance, elevation -- but no maps. IMPORTANT: this device will lose the GPS signal if in your pocket or backpack... MUST be facing the sky while in use.

Hey folks my name are Ryan. I'm here to talk about a cool new device I have called Garmin Fore tracks 101. This is a hand held GPS receiver. This is an exceptionally small and light receiver. I bought this because I wanted something to carry on myself or on a backpack or on handle bar of bike for example. Because it's very light in weight and it can track obviously any GPS features for instance wherever you've been on a path. So when you get lost on the woods or on the mountain bike ride this whole device will point you back where you came from or tell you where you are. Standard GPS functionality. There's no maps on this device. This is a runners model so to speak that Garmin Markets is sort of a wrist mounted or there's a wrist strap that comes with it. And it mounts running your wrist or this cradle that's in right now is a bike handle bar mounting bracket. So if you're out running and you wanna know where you are anytime this thing just snaps on to a handle bar mount. That's pretty cool. This handle bar mount doesn't come with the device. It's about I don't know 15 to $20.00 accessory you can buy anywhere. The Garmin needed it self is very cool it's got a backlit display you can enter a bunch of different route and way point standard GPS functionality here but the benefit to this device are obviously it's weight and it's size. I recently had one of this mounted to the front of my dirt bike and it vibrated off the handle bar mounted drove over the thing and broke it. So it's not meant to be really take a hard shock but its very light weight and easy to use and read. One of the other features I like is you can page through to a speed gauge to show you how fast you're moving and that's kind of helpful if you're riding road bikes and wonder how fast you're going or just simply miles you've traveled so far. All the features like that are built into this device. Overall on a scale of 1 to 10 I'll give this thing probably an 8. I wish there were some maps but it would be a little more expensive if there were maps built in. So for the price point I think it's a great device it's very little and light and it's got a lot of uses. So if you're ever riding and you get lost in the desert of woods you can find your home with this thing.
