Hi my name is Christine and this is my review of the Garmin GPS 18 USB with nRoute navigation software. My husband purchased because he was a salesman for a while and what we would do is we would plug this in to okay there's software that you go ahead and you put it on your laptop and then there is this like little thing that suction cups to your windshield on the inside of your car and then you hook it up to your laptop and what we would do is while we were driving we would hook this up and like you could put it on the passenger seat the laptop or the person will hold the laptop and it would tell you exactly where to go. What was really neat about it is that you can put in there like I mean it has like all of the United States in there so I could put in a street or let's say I wanted to find an in-and-out burger. I could say In-and-out burger Cambria California and it would find in-and-out for me on the software and find the address it would know the location automatic and it would tell me exactly how to get there you know and it would be like Left at this place right on this street left like telling you to turn as you're turning. Another thing that was cool was that if you missed your turn it would correct for you so like if you're going and I'm supposed to turn left and I missed it it would figure out how to get back and sometimes it won't even be like doing a U-turn; it would be like totally going another way. So I realize like a lot of cars come with this GPS navigation software installed in it but if you're poor like we are and you're never probably gonna purchase a car with anything like that in it this is a really good alternative for you. The only thing that isn't nice is that you have to have your laptop with you like you're in the front seat or something and for us we have a pretty large laptop so it was kind of bulky and hard to use. So that's one thing about having a GPS system in your car is it uses this little tiny screen that's really easy to understand. But if you don't mind having your laptop with you or maybe like my husband when he was selling things he had to have the laptop it wasn't an inconvenience; it was actually really really helpful. The only downside was that we got so used to using this that we've stopped paying attention to where things were. We were just constantly listening to the GPS telling us left left right right but it is just really really good. It's really easy to use easy to understand. We purchased this system for $130 from a local computer store so yeah anyway that's my review. I definitely recommend it.

Turn your laptop PC into a powerful street navigator with the GPS 18 - a GPS sensor bundled with nRoute and City Select software that automatically guides you with turn-by-turn directions and voice prompts to get you safely to your destination. Similar to Garmin's MapSource software, nRoute...
