Cute in a unique sort of way, hermit crabs are excellent pets. They are lower maintenance than other pets and hypo allergenic. They really are fun to watch and interact with!

ExpoTV has thousands of reviews from people just like you!
Hi Allison here with another review for you. This is a pet review for a pet that we have. Actually pet I should say. We have hermit crabs and they really belong to my daughter. She wanted that but I spend so much time looking at them taking them out and playing with them. They are really fascinating little creatures. Now this is our hermit crabs habitat in here. What I am going to do is take one out to show you if you are not familiar with hermit crabs. Then you might be thinking "Oh My gosh It is a crab. What kind of pet is that?" They are very very cute in a really unique kind of unusual way. They seem to do have their own personalities. And while they are not cuddly like a dog or cat there is just something really cute about them. They love to climb and I was very afraid at first when I first got them that I was going to get pinched but I haven't been pinched yet and they really seem to like to be handled. They like to come out. We put them on the floor and we make sure that they are in a safe room where they can't get lost or anything. We are always watching them keeping the dog out of the room. And they like to climb on my daughter's toys. She'll set up little blocks for them. And they like to walk over things. They just are really kind of interesting to watch. They love to climb. They climb on each other; and like I said we have three of them. They are very inexpensive pets. You don't require a whole lot. You need mist them to keep them moist. You need to obviously feed them and you do bath them but it is a pet that you can keep in your child's room and it is not as stinky smelly as say a hamster or [gerbil]. It is just a bit more low maintenance. I am just going to take one out right now to show you. And this is our big guy. This is Goliath and here he is. I'll get up so you can see him. And he is sort of coming out of his shell there. He is our biggest one and we do have two smaller ones. And there is his little eyes and I don't want him to fall so be careful. But they retreat into their shell and then they'll come out and pretend that they are in their shell and we want to come out a friend told me this and it really works. I don't know if it's something that she made up. But it really works. We'll just hum to them and they will actually come out of their shell. And so I am just going to put him back because I don't want to make him upset. But they really are cute cute cute pet. This is our tiniest one. This one's name is Lala and she is in a tiny shell. One thing about hermit crabs is they like to switch shells so you do have to have extra shells in your habitat so they can choose to move to a new home. They might do that when they get too big for their shell or they just might decide that they want a new house. Oh She is coming out. There she is. There's Lala. So you have to have extra shells available for when they want to move. You should have a few because they can become fuzzy and they might you know. You may have one there that they don't care for so you do have to have a few extra shells available. So if you are looking for something different a little pet you can keep that isn't extremely high maintenance that isn't you know messy too messy. And these are also hypoallergenic. So if you have children with allergies these are great because they could have this. Check out hermit crabs. They are really truly fascinating little creature. Until next time.
