I'd like to talk to you today as one pet owner to another. I love my pet. They're my - for babies. They're members of my family. If for some reason they we're to become lost I would want them return to me just as I would like my children to will - be return if they were ever to become lost. That's why I made a decision to have a microchip placed in my pet. Umm - this is a microchips system. This is a sterile package just like your veterinarian a shelter or paint in your facility would have. There is a syringe with a needle and a microchip inside the needle in this package. There is a code on here that is unique to this microchip. It will never be duplicated so no other pet can have this number. This chip is injected right underneath your pet's skin and cannot be lost. It is ID that always stays with your pet. So you'll be given a couple of things when you have your pet microchip. One is an ID form or registration form. This form is incredibly important. If you do not fill out this form and send it in the registry does not have your information. In addition to your information you can place an alternate contact and pertinent medical information regarding your pet on file with the registry. This is available 24 hours a day seven days a week. If your pet is ever picked up as a stray it can be taken to shelter of veterinarian's office including your veterinarian emergency room will be scanned. The number on this chip will come up so that the pet can be identified. A simple telephone call is all that will be required to return your pet to you. And the other thing that your pet will receive is a tag. Now this tag also has the telephone number and chip number on it. However my pet has slips out of their colors. I've been left holding a leash with a color at the end and my pet has been running through yards 3 or 4 houses down. I think that my pets have always come back to me and I'd never had to go to the shelter to pick my pet. But I've known other people that have this microchip could save your pet's life. A pet only has a certain amount of time in most shelters. If your pet cannot be identified you may not have your pet return to you. This is the simple procedure. It could save your pet's life. It is one of the most loving things that you could do. I want my pet returned to me and I know that you would want your pets safe in your loving arms if they were ever to become separated from you.
