How does the 5 point harness system work?

The basis of a 5 point harness is that the shoulder and leg straps click together at the chest and then are also clicked into the one main base between the child's legs to make sure the child is securly strapped in and safe. I guess it's called 5 point becasue it's using 2 shouder straps, 2 leg ones and then connecting to a main one at the bottom.
