As far as I know, there is no support for an AC adapter --unless you can either rig one up yourself or have someone qualified do it for you. Like yours, mine consumes batteries much too quickly, and I've thought about either buying rechargeable batteries(expensive upfront but cheaper in the long run) or trying to wire up my own adapter (would hate to ruin the electronic components though). Let me know if you find a solution!
i'm in the same boat, i'd love to get an ac adaptor.. i know radio shack sells all different sizes and voltages, but i don't know what kind it would take. there is a small outlet on the back that looks like it would be for this purpose.
I purchased a adaptor from walmart.
It comes with numerous ends to find one that fits as well as you can change the voltage on it.
I used the 2nd biggest, positive polarity on 6volt.
Be careful, I tried the ac adaptor and blew our the whole thing. It was a small 6volt. It still works but I dont get the time, fan, or anything on the display to work. Nor can I adjust the resistance!! I'm shopping now for a new one.
I fried mine too! I plugged an AC adaptor and it fried the entire console.
Pro-Form can sell you one directly for around $90. I just bought a XP 110 second hand w/o a power suppy, so I contacted them and they are ordering me one now.
as long as you have the proper voltage/amperage, any adaptor should work... the problem is, they don't tell you... in the manual or on the website... they don't even tell you there's an option... the power supply outlet on the back is never even mentioned. probably so they can sell you a $90 (!!!) PS... did you ask what the v/a on the adaptor is when you spoke with pro-form?
I just fried my Proform Ellilptical model PFEL7806.1 by using the wrong ac adapter setting. Is it done? Is there a fuse or anything that can just be replaced and make it work again? I just looked up the console on the PROFORM website and its $300!! My wife is going to kill me!!
I bought the XP 110 second hand as well. I called Proform about the power supply and it is 70.37. To the person that mentioned getting the information about the voltage and amperage, I asked that same question. I was only told "Transformer CVDC 600ma". The 600ma is critical to the machine. I am certain that it is 6v since it uses 4 1.5v D sized batteries. If anyone gets a power supply from somewhere other than Proform, make sure that it is 600ma, or you will probably fry your console.
I called pro form. The battery consumption is a known issue with ProForm.
It does support AC adaptors. You can purchase them. I think for around 70 bucks?
