Include Pixar Animation Team Featurettes?

pirateshipskip posted on April 01, 2008 at 2:44 pm

Does the Two Disc Collector's Edition have any special features that include featurettes of Pixar's animation team and show them designing/animating the Finding Nemo characters?

It has a Making Nemo documentary and a section about the art in Nemo done by the artists. There is also on Disc 2 a behind the scenes tour of the Pixar Studios.

Yes Andrew Stanton the writer/director does an interview and there is a whole informative behind the scenes portion. Remember fish are friends not food. Jayne

Yes, there is a part with the son of Jacques Costeau - Jean-Michael Costeau that shows him doing a real life story on the reefs and the characters are interacting with him.

Yes there are a lot of interesting extra features. One of my favorites was with Jean-Michael Costeau. Gotta check it out. And if you know anything about easter eggs hidden on dvd's. This 2-disc has 9 and you can go to the link below to see how to find them. Really fun.

Hi, yes the disc has a documentary showing how the film was created and the artist themselves discuss & show their creations. Our favorite part is when Jean-Michael Cousteau explores the reef with the Nemo characters. My kids liked the Fisharades game too! The whole edition is amazing.

Looks like you've had a lot of response here! Yes, there are tons of extras. My personal favorite is the "virtual aquarium". It turns your TV into your choice of about 6 underwater animated ocean scenes. Pretty cool. There's also an animated short and a "making of" track that is really good. Pixar always does a class A job with their DVD releases.

Summary
A delightful undersea world unfolds in Pixar's animated adventure Finding Nemo . When his son Nemo is captured by a scuba-diver, a nervous-nellie clownfish named Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks) sets off into the vast--and astonishingly detailed--ocean to find him. Along the way he hooks up with a scatterbrained blue tang fish named Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), who's both helpful and a hindrance, sometimes at the same time. Faced with sharks, deep-sea anglers, fields of poisonous jellyfish, sea turtles, pelicans, and much more, Marlin rises above his neuroses in this wonderfully funny and nonstop thrill ride--rarely does more than 10 minutes pass without a sequence destined to become a theme park attraction. Pixar continues its run of impeccable artistic and economic success (their movies include Toy Story , A Bug's Life , Toy Story 2 , and Monsters, Inc ). Also featuring the voices of Willem Dafoe, Geoffrey Rush, and Allison Janney. --Bret Fetzer
