Is it normal for the compressor to be all noisy?

charliev posted on June 09, 2008 at 2:23 am

Hello. i just bought this same model, open it up and try it to see if it works. I turned it on and wow the compressor makes a lot of noise.

If so, does the noise stays outside once you installed it properly?
Because the box reads 'ultra quiet operation' so I don't know if to go ahead and install it or take it back as a malfunction.

Thank you.

The compressor in this unit is very load and if water gets in it when it rains it is horrible. It keeps the room nice and cold but I have now decided to go with something a little bigger and much quieter...something like a fridgaire. ~Allen
