Is the Canon PowerShot A570 IS 7.1MP Digital Camera simple to use for amature photographers?

Yes, very simple. That's all I use it for and the pictures look professional :)

yes I am not photographer by trade but i do love this camera I miss the setting for color selecting that that had in on the older model it is great and easy to use the older model has the setting to only show on color like you see in most accent photos like only pink bows and such .. easy to use and i am not much for reading manuals so it is self teaching with photo symbols.

Very simple. If you don't know anything about cameras it is still very simple to use. Simply set it to auto, half press the button to focus, press the rest of the way to snap the picture. Simple as that. But if you want to you can use more advanced settings, this is not needed though.
