I've heard mixed reviews...

Jessicagnon posted on March 27, 2008 at 6:06 pm

A few of my friends had the Razr and said that the reception was pretty bad. I am wondering if it is a Motorola cellphone issue or if AT&T cellphones like this are just as bad. Maybe we just live in an area with bad service. Thanks for your help!

Honestly at first this phone was great, however with a little wear n tear its reception wasn't the greatest. It also felt a little flimsy and cheap after 6 months or so. Either that or I'm just hard on my phones. lol

It's probably your area unfortunately. In my experience the V3 Razr gets good reception and has good outgoing quality (it's good at canceling out background noise on your end so other people can hear you better).

My biggest problem with the phone is that the camera is complete crap. I guess it's also important to note that my battery had to be recharged every two days or so after about 8 months of being on most of the time, instead of having to charge about once a week like when it was new.

I feel like I'm voicing an unpopular opinion when I say that I was very fond of my Razr until its dying day! I've heard a lot of people with negative opinions of the Razr (many of them, I have noticed, being AT&T customers), but mine was actually quite good. I had mine for almost two years, and the biggest complaint I have is the lack of space for text messages.

(For those who are interested, my phone didn't actually die out, even after two years of pretty harsh use - it met its demise courtesy of my little sister spilling water on it.)

I was so satisfied with my Razr that the Samsung phones I used temporarily until I bought a new phone did not meet my expectations and I ended up buying another Motorola when the time came. Now, I have a W490 and I probably am even more pleased with this than I was the Razr.

Of course, everyone has different preferences as to what they want their phones to look like, and what they want their phones to do for them. I, for one, am very pleased with Motorola, and being as brand-loyal as I am, it'll take some convincing to get me to use a different one when the time comes to replace my current phone.

The Motorola I have is through the Verizon network, which was up during all 4 of our hurricanes here in south Florida. I have never dropped a call, even when I had a weak signal, they are easy to upload the firmware upgrades and sound great. There are no complaints on this end.
