This product is a good idea, but not necessarily well thought out. KitchenAid KPS2CL Pouring Shield for 4-1/2 and 5-Quart Stand Mixers, Cookware & Baking, Kitchen & Housewares

Hi I am Anna and this is my review of the Spill Cover Pour in Spill Cover for my Kitchen Aid mixer. You can see it here. This is a Kitchen Aid Product. It actually came with my mixer but I believe it doesn t always come with it. But I got a deal at Amazon and it came with it. And I kind of have a love-hate relationship with this. My best friend has a mixer like mine. It is actually the same as mine. She had this first and she bought hers refurbished from Kitchen Aid and it didn t come with the spill cover. And she really wishes she had it. But I just really struggle with it. Let me explain. First of all it fits on here like this. And just the way it is fits on is not well secure. It is what we need to get it off-centered and not quite directly on the bowl. And so it is not much shredding when you are baking and you are adding ingredients and you got your mixer running to stop and make sure it is perfect is a little annoying. It also has a big gap at the back. So you can still spill into the bowl. And this pour spout is just a little bit awkward. If you are pouring wet ingredients it gets stuck on there. It is also just an annoying piece to clean because it has so many curvy parts and you can see through it so you can see any water spots of scratches or anything like that. I do overall though like it because when you are storing your mixer in your kitchen you are basically protecting your instruments. I keep all my attachments inside of my mixer. I don t know. It is just so they are easy to find when I was going out and return this once I am done. You can see this [inaudible] I can t get it right. But so it keeps the dust from getting in there. And that is convenient. It is also nice to be able to pour things in but I still overshoot sometimes on this and spill into the mixer portion if you don t hit this. So I don t know. I wouldn t say like four out of five stars by any means. I would say two or three stars out of five. And it is better than nothing. So you now that is something. But I wouldn t say that if you don t have it I don t know if I am going to spend $25 on it. Maybe that is what it retails for. So I don t know. It is nice if it comes with it then you have the option. But I wouldn t certainly go out and buy it. So that is my review of the kitchen aid spill protector for my Artisan series mixer.
