Okay, this is the Konica Minolta DiMAGE S414 camera. It’s a 4-Megapixel camera, it also has a 4x optical zoom, which is pretty decent for a point and shoot camera. For the time that we used the camera it was great, it took great pictures, we had very little red eye and our flash features using the red-eye reduction feature on the camera. It uses compact flash cards. It fits gently into the slot there. Got to be careful in taking them out might shoot all over the place. Also there is the data port for the USB, as well as an AV out option, so you can plug it directly into your television. Directly below that is the charger. If you use rechargeable batteries, you could just charge it up right there. However that costs quite a bit of money to buy the accessories to do that. It does run on four AA batteries that fit here in the camera which make it kind of heavy and clunky. However, when holding it, it feels very secure in your hands. It has a very good handgrip to it. The one thing we do have to say about it is that after about two years of use, the sensor, the battery sensor on it started failing, where you put fresh new batteries, you can go the store and buy brand new batteries and it would die within 20 seconds of you turning the camera on saying that it had a dead battery. And doing some research online and checking with other people we knew that had the camera, yes, most people have similar problems where the sensor would fail and unfortunately for us it failed after our warranty period and so we were not able to fix it without forking over a lot of money. It is just cheaper in the long run, you know, to buy a cheaper upgraded camera, 4 Megapixels and better zoom. So, all in all it was a great camera as along as it works for you and if it continues to work, it’s great.
