Hello my name is Shyla and I'm going to review the Magellan RoadMate 2000. Now what this is is a GPS Vehicle Navigation System that helps a driver as they go out to their destination by providing a map and direction to where they wanna go depending on what address they enter. Now to give you a good closeup this is the basic menu of the Magellan RoadMate 2000. You have the map that actually just came up and that will show you exactly where you are located at in your city and state. And as you actually drive the map will show exactly what street you're on and also what direction you're going. It's very detailed. You can even actually click on the upper left hand corner and you will see the coordinates of your current location. Now on the actual menu you have the selection for the map as you just saw. You also have the selection of a street address. You can actually enter a street address and it will compute the actual location for you as far as how to get there. This is also a voice-enabled GPS so if I click street address it will state street address in a very nice tone of voice and which you can search by city zip code and if you got in at a prior city it'll store that for you in memory. You also have a Points of Interest menu. Now this menu is very nifty in that you can select a number of different categories for your traveling leisure. If I click on it I have different subcategories. As we see here there's restaurants there's banks ATMs gas stations vehicles hotels you name it -- they have a category for it. There's also a selection where you could put your home address in and it's easy to access if you wanna actually just go home and not have to worry about looking in your address book. Speaking of address book you do have an address book in which you can actually enter your own particular destinations and you also have an Intersection selection. I recommend this particular GPS system. It's very convenient. I got it for about $265. It's one of the cheaper ones and you really get your money's worth. Whether or not you're an expert map reader or if you're a novice map reader this would be a good product for you and that all you have to do is drive and a voice directs you to your destination. Even if you don't have the voice on you could still see a very good map of where you wanna go. The only setback of this particular model is that you have about 1.3 million points of interest to choose from that are already preprogrammed in here. But if you actually want to go to a specific store and you don't know the address you're gonna have to go to your local Yellow Pages and input the actual address in the GPS system. But that's a small price to pay for a really great system like this. It weighs about two pounds so it won't cause any strain as you pick it up and put it on your dashboard and it also comes with a dashboard -- I would say a dashboard installer -- so that you won't have to hold this as you drive. And that's my review. Thank you.
