If I get a PS3 with a 40GB hard drive. Can I use an external card reader for it?
No, As the USB slots on the PS3 have a low supply of power going to them there is simply not enough power to power the card reader and could cause your playstation to crash or shut down.
Not sure sorry.
No you cannot. The 40 gig has no card reader.
