Hi I'm Liz and I'm here to talk to you about Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest which is of course the second movie in series following the Curse and Black Pearl. This is a very different movie from the first one I think it it lacks some of the sort of magical discovery feeling because you already know all of the characters in order to kind of know what's going on. However it does introduce the myth of Davy Jones but of course you all heard that before you heard that's the pirate things Davy Jones locker. And this this movie definitely expands on that whole that whole myth of Davy Jones and that giant beast that crack and who controls the sea. Exactly what is Davy Jones locker? Who is he? What is the black spot? Do you ever heard of black spot it's been part of stories like Treasure Island and stuff before its all pirate legend. And it gets sort of expanded upon and I explained to you and I've never been totally clear on how much they sort of just made up for the movie and how much of it is real legends. However it's very good entice together very well in this movie. And that makes up a little bit for some of the some of the sort of shortcomings non-characters are quite are charming as they were. And the movie as a whole is not as cohesive as the first one. A lot of people like it a lot less. And I don't it's hard to put the thing on exactly why but I think a lot of it is there there's a whole sequence on the on the Savage Island where Jack act very strange. I think a lot of people will be put off by that. By also by the ending which is extremely vogue and open ended and of course the reason is because they knew they were going to a third one. When they made the first one they didn't know how it's going to be received and it has an ending. And of course much like you know a lot of movies were they suddenly had going to have a sequel without realizing it. This movie has a sort of tear apart in conclusion of the first one. Say hey you know legend work out the way we thought it would this one is really good habit because you either have more adventures. And instead of giving you sort of the false ending for this one they just leave it kind of open. And well I appreciate the thought behind that it is also kind of annoying because you know there is said about per sequel you never really feel like you watch half of movie. And that's always that's always a problem issue from middle part of the trilogy. Anyway if you were a huge fan of first movie which you would enjoy it like I did you should check this out so if nothing else you can see the third one because I think it's more better but also because you can see all of your favorite characters again because Davy Jones is a fantastic by the CGI quite unbelievably good actually probably one of the best I've ever seen and yes it did win they win Oscar particular for special effects thing. So if nothing else this is worth this is worth seeing just for that. Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest. 00:03:03:000

Summary
Take the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, add a dash of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and a lot more rum. Shake well and you'll have something resembling Dead Man's Chest , a bombastic sequel that's enjoyable as long as you don't think too hard about it. The film opens with the interrupted wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), both of whom are arrested for aiding in the escape of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first film. Their freedom can only be obtained by getting Captain Jack's compass, which is linked to a key that's linked to a chest belonging to Davy Jones, an undead pirate with a tentacle face and in possession of a lot of people's souls. If you're already confused, don't worry--plot is definitely not the strong suit of the franchise, as the film excels during its stunt pieces, which are impressively extravagant (in particular a three-way swordfight atop a mill wheel). It may help to know that Dead Man's Chest was filmed simultaneously with some of Pirates 3 , so don't expect a complete resolution (think more The Empire Strikes Back ) or the movie will feel a lot longer than it really is. Bloom shows a tad bit more brawn this time around, but he's still every bit as pretty as the tomboyish Knightley. (Seriously, sometimes you think they could swap roles.) Bill Nighy ( Love, Actually ) weighs in as Davy Jones and Stellan SkarsgÄrd appears as Will's undead father. But the film still belongs wholly to Depp, who in a reprise of his Oscar-nominated role gets all the belly laughs with a single widened eyeliner-ed gaze. He still runs like a cartoon hen and slurs like Keith Richards--and he's still one of the most fascinating movie characters in recent history. --Ellen A.
