Hi, my name is Richard and this is the Samsung DVD Recorder, model number DVDR135. This is the DVD recorder, recently got it at Best Buy for about $180.00 and I like it a lot. And what it does is it allows you to connect multiple inputs such as a camcorder or a camera or even a VCR to it, to the player. And allow you to record straight to the DVD. Now it also has an up-converter inside so it up-converts the DVDs and to tell you the truth, I think that's a, that up-conversion thing is a marketing gimmick. Now I've read reviews on this product, it says it's actually a good up-converter and I have a 26inch LCD screen, I cannot tell a single difference. I've done many comparisons with many DVDs I can not see a any bit of difference. You do need a HDMI cable which is not included in the package in order to use the up-conversion. Now there is a, there is a good thing about it, maybe if a 50inch or bigger screen then I can actually see a little bit of difference but not a huge difference, not near HD quality like it says on the box. I'm a little disappointed in that. It does come with a remote, it's very sleek looking, very thin and it has a component output so it's still a good picture if you don't want to buy HDMI cable because they are pretty expensive, I think $70.00 I had to pay, which I pretty much, I think I got ripped off because I can find it cheaper online. And it's, that's pretty much it, it does play DVDs, it does play DivX, that's really cool so I you have, instead when you record on a camcorder, instead of converting it to a DVD MPEG-2 quality, you just burn it to a CD or DVD and just play it right straight through on to the player so I think that's really great and you can record it obviously. And this the Samsung HDTV compliant DVD recorder model number R135 and I'm Richard.
