Hello Expo TV this is my review of the Sony handy cam it's the DCR-HC96 model. This comes out probably about a year or 2 ago so it's kinda old not too bad but I think I paid it's probably around like 5 or 600 dollars for it. It's a really nice camera it's really small I'll try to put some still pictures up later of it just to show you how small it is but it's very small I mean the size of hand is you know normal and look at how small the camera is. It has 3.0 mega pixel camera that you can also take still pictures with and it takes a memory card duo right here on the slot and as you can see it has a viewable viewfinder like most do with the LCD screen. And you can move it all different ways. The cool thing about this camera is it actually has a touch screen and I'll try to show the best that I can right here if you go to the menu and then you can just change everything you know on the ___ right on the screen right when you re recording. So that's pretty nice a lot of you don't like that feature just because they think its conversam. But I like it a lot. Sony is a pre trusted brand for handy cams and many digital video camcorders. This is a mini DV cam it has your little accessory device up here on top so you can put anything from the whites to microphones up there. The different modes that it has are let's just see here I mean you have the standard captured mode you have the play and edit mode where you can just hook it up to your computer and I'll show all that stuff later. Then you have the camera mode where you can actually take still pictures. There's also an easy mode on here which is really cool for beginners if you're not really you know into the advance features or anything like that there is an easy mode so you just ___ point and shot and you're ready to go great for older folks or you know really young kids. It's got standard battery I get about an hour and a half of recording time. It goes down with if you are using the LCD screen obviously coz it's pulling more battery. It also comes with this ___ little remote really small it's a great for when you are you know you have a tripod set up and you need to you can just record like that start stop you can zoom in or zoom out. It's really great or if you have it hook up to your television you can control the camera through that which is an also another great feature. This camera takes many DV tapes unlike newer cameras that are starting to come out with a hard drive and built in them with a non removable storage this allows you to you know have multiple tapes you can just switch it out if you need it you will run out of battery ___ you can buy longer running batteries and I highly recommend that. This is another thing that comes with the camera it is the dock the camera sits right on there right where that Sony logo is and this allows you to charge the camera as well as import video there's a USB a fire wire and then the DC as well as the audio visual if you wanna plug in to your computer that way. This is okay it would be nice if they would have given you a wallet charger with the camera as well just for the fact that not all time you're gonna be able to just plug it in somewhere I mean it's kind of conversam at times _____ to take the batteries out of the and then charge it that way. However this is pretty slick for uploading videos and stuff like that it's pretty nice. So this also comes with a night shot I just show you guys what it looks like it's green tent it's gonna hard to tell now but I have night shot on and here's night shot off. So it works really nice actually at night it's kinda too bad that it gets that green glow but it does work really well. So this camera also has a 12X digital zoom so this I'll just zoom on this picture to show you that is how far it zooms in. And that's the fire that zooms in when you are zoomed in this far it's super touchy so I definitely recommend getting a tripod and that's for any camera too. So here's a couple of pictures just to show you how big the camera is next to a pop can as you see it's pretty small that's the charger that it comes with and a couple of other angle this is the charger that it comes with a various supports and then the very supports on this front and side of the camera that _____ . So in conclusion the Sony HC96 is a great camera its good for you know beginners as well as advance users. It has a ton of menu options that I've not even touch and I mean if you kind but I simply don't use them as you can see ___ just stick it around it. So it's a great camera I give it about a 4 out 5 just because there's a newer technology out there who are starting to get like the hard drives and stuff like that but it's still an all around great camera low light situations it takes descent video compared to Canons and other ones that I've seen definitely research before you buy something expensive and something that you gonna use for a long and so I would give this about a 4 out of 5.
