Sony MDR-EX51 Fontopia Headphones

I actually think these are good heaphones but I can't get past the RIDICULOUS replacement price of the silicon ear pieces. These 2 cent pieces will cost you about $13 to replace through Sony.com and no stores carry them locally.

Hey this is a video review of Sony MDR EX51 headphones. This EX51 headphones are also called the Sony Funtopia it comes with the forth cable and a standard mini plug it's called plated should fit into most of your devices and I'll plug it into my laptop play a little bit of music through the headphones. (sound clip) It sound pretty good they're surprisingly powerful and I like how they fit in the ear they're comfortable they also provide a little bit of noise isolation when you plug this into your ear. So if you're listening at some place that's a bit noisy this has a nice job of providing a little bit of isolation a couple of things really bug me about this though. One is that the wires tangle really easily I guess there's not much you can do about this especially since it's not a headband style of headphone so these plugs get tangled up. And the other much more annoying issue is the replacement cost of these silicon ear cushions they come with three sizes they come with a small medium and the large and I'm using the medium right now. I lost one so if you wanna replace it I wasn't able to find any in the store and instead I went on-line this is the Funtopia headphone here which costs about $40 to $30. You can see that the replacement ear cushions are $7.99 and once you pay shipping of maybe $3 to $4 you're paying almost the third of the cost of the headphones just to replace these little gel silicon cushions. And just can't believe that so in conclusion while these are pretty decent headphones with good sound some noise isolation and are very comfortable in my ear. I have a hard time recommending them to anyone because it's cost prohibited to place these little silicon cushions and it's really silly pricing. They should give those for free if you ask. Thanks for watching my video review of the Sony MDR EX51 Funtopia headphones
