It does a great job in low lighting situations. The flash is great but if you are in low lighting situations and don't want to use the flash, this camera is very good. I've had this camera for about 4 months now and it takes great clear pictures, the LCD on the back is huge and it has some really cool features like color accent, and color swap. It's a great upgrade for anyone that's ever owned an older canon. I upgraded from my s500, well worth it.

Additionally, when you upload the pictures to your computer (or directly print your pictures), they come out even clearer than expected.
