If you need a calculator for school, this is one of the better ones out right now. This is a TI83 silver edition. This is great for up until calc one. Most schools will allow this calculator. You are going to be using it all times, except during some tests maybe. And my school allowed it for Calculus I. Some colleges allow an 89 during Calculus I and if you're able to use an 89, I really suggest it for calculus, because it'll give you the features that you'll need to get answers faster. This one doesn't do nearly as many functions as the 89, but it's still very powerful compared to some of the scientific ones out there, and has games too. It has a lot of memory. The silver edition has added memory, so you can solve problems faster which is really important on tests, special calculus tests because the 83+ or the 83 normal version, it solves, it's way too slow, and you know when you have ten problems and 20 minutes to do it and your calculator takes 5 minutes to do a problem, you're not going to get anywhere. So, 83 silver really cuts that time I'd say time in a third, down to a third or maybe in half. So, it's really worth it to spend the extra buck and get the 83 silver edition. This does -- it integrates, it does derivatives, but it only does it on a definite integral. You know, if you don't know what that means yet, I guess you don't need it yet. But it has graphing capabilities, you know, you can do all the standard graphing capabilities like intersect lines and curves and etc. etc. And the only thing I want to say about this is, it's not that easy to use compared to the 89. It doesn't have the menu section, and you can't go back, you can't scroll up, which gets to be kind of a hassle. So, it's just something to consider. Once again it's the TI83 Plus Graphing Calculator. --
