Yes, I have traveled the same back roads. I have found out that an updated map can be purchased and added to your Garmin. It seems that new roads and new restaurants, stores, etc, are being built that were not there when ours was programmed. Check Amazon.com or do a search at your fav. electronic store for an updated version. It really helps. :)
Thanks for your reply. I am confused, however, since these expressways have been in existence for a long time. I can't understand why the latest maps would not be programmed into my unit is I just purchased it this past December. That would certainly be a negative for purchasing the Garmin if that is the case.
I also purchased mine in December. I think it was an older model, because mine was on sale. I did not know it was not the newer version until I started reading the manual. I have be routed to stores that no longer exist and to new stores that have taken there places by just driving around an area. I think it is like having to update Microsoft Windows. Microsoft continues to increase power and the Garmin keeps upgrading. As long as there is supply and demand, I guess we are going to be given the option to upgrade our purchases or be in the stone ages, within a few years. It was still a very god bargain and the new mapping
system was affordable. I still love the Garmin. It usually takes me to where I need to go without to much rerouting. Oh, you can never exclude the fact that there are people hired to program these gadgets that may not be qualified.
