Will magic eraser remove crayon marks from old book pages?

I purchased an old book on ebay that has red crayon marks on a couple pages.

I would not be something I would try because the magic eraser is used when it is wet.

I don't think the magic eraser is for paper. If it is a board book, I would try it out!
