You can extend the range of any router with an access point.
You can also boost the range of routers such as these with aftermarket or homemade antennae, although I'm sure this probably voids the warranty.

At your local electronics store you can purchase a bigger antenna or 2 antennas or you can use a homemade paper and tin foil antenna ;)
i can get the wifi basically anywhere in my house with the router, and outside depending on how good the device your using is at picking up the signal
