While it may seem like another mediocre mp3 player, I've had a great experience using my iRiver, and enjoy its many features.

[music playing] There's a lot of MP3 players out there; but most of the market is dominated by one particular brand a rather fruity brand. But anyway with all this like domination there is one brand I believe that provides good competition and that's where we enter the iRiver. This is the 20-gigabyte blue model. This particular model is a couple of years old; I've had it for quite a long time. But I think this has some cool features that the Apple model doesn't really offer. I bought this mostly because I wanted an MP3 player that works off Windows Media Player and will play MP3s. You know I've had a good relationship with MP3 files in the past. They have treated me well; we just got along really well. I can't say the same thing about the M4Ps or whatever it is that the empiric Apple Corporation uses. So anyway that's why I got this because it runs off Windows Media; it uses MP3s WMAs or basically any sort of audio file except for DP files. It's got a number of different features on it. If you want to take a look at this it obviously plays music. It's also got an FM radio built into it. It can pick up FM radio signals really well plays it right off here for you. It's also got a recording device which can come in really handy. It can basically record anything within a small radius. However you can also couple that with the FM radio player. Let me give you an example. Let's say currently I'm listening to like the Muppets radio station. Our favorite song just comes on the air and we're like Oh I love this song but we don't have it So what do we do? We listen to it off here and then start the recorder. It will record the song as it's playing on the radio and then later we can transfer that to our PC and we can have a copy on our PC. It's a really cool feature that I think the Apple models don't have or don't have yet at least. The quality of the song that you record isn't that great; it's not near CD quality. But you know if you can look past that it's great to have these rare songs that you can only hear on radio. This model will also display photos if you want or text files. You can simply add those onto your iRiver via your computer Windows Media Player. Obviously MP3 players are only as good as they sound; and this one I think sounds really good. That was one of the first things that really surprised me about it was how crisp and clear the sound quality really was and that's partly due to the SRS WOW technology that it incorporates. So if you're looking for an MP3 player that runs off your MP3 or Windows Media Player or you just hate Apple for some reason; then I would definitely recommend looking the iRiver. You may want to check out some of their newer models; they might have more features that like compare with the leading Apple ones as far as video were touched. But iRiver I think is a good quality one.

The iRiver 20 GB model H10 is the perfect portable digital player/recorder for true music and audio enthusiasts. Hardly bigger than a deck of cards, its 1.8-inch hard drive has space for over 5,000 songs (128 kbps MP3, 4 minutes per song) or more than 330 hours of music. Yet the whole player...
