Although Lenovo has been around for decades, they were far from a household name until after their purchase of IBM's PC Division in 2005. It's been a great transition as they've continued to improve the wildly popular ThinkPad and in 2008 they introduced the ultralight IdeaPad U110, putting a crimp in Apple's MacBook Air launch.
