When we first got married about five years ago one of the things that I got for myself was a crock pot. I don t use it all the time as religiously as some people do but I ve always found it to be pretty handy. The one that we have is only three and a half quarts and it s round which is kind of problematic when you wanna do a roast or a chicken inside. So I treated myself to a new one. This is a Rival Crock Pot. This one is a five and a half-quart model and it's oval so it will be great for putting in roasts or it says two chickens but I think they have to be pretty small chickens but it will fit a nice pork roast in here really well. There are some improvements over the one that I got for myself five years ago. For one thing this crock can go in the dishwasher and mine could not. It has a nice glass lid and the one that I had before was plastic so I think it keeps the heat in a little bit better and besides just having low high and off it also has a warm setting so when things are actually done cooking but you don t want them to get cold you can just put it on warm. This particular model also comes with a bonus of this little dipper and it's great for using for like hot dip and things like that. It s a little more steady heat than a fondue pot but you can make the same kinds of things in it or even for serving gravy at the table is really nice. The suggested retail for this is about $30.00 but of course when you find it on sale it ll be a little bit cheaper than that. My only wish is that I could have gotten a black one. My kitchen is black and the store only had it in white so I m a little worried as to how well it s gonna hold up in terms of tomato stains and things like that but so far so good. This is again the Rival Crock Pot. This is the five and a half quart oval model with the bonus little dipper.
