We're here. I have the Haier Air Conditioner. It's a 5,200 BTU window unit, and I picked it up at a local store for about $60, because I needed something else on top of the AC that we already have in the house. And the problem with this unit is it has only two settings on it, obviously, high or low, power on, power off. And it goes from one to ten for the coolest setting, but it doesn't really seem to have that much cooling power. And also the next biggest problem was the plastic guards that go in the window here -- if you can see this -- it goes in the window, and it gives you some foam and everything. This is some additional foam that I bought. But the biggest problem was where it connected up top and on the bottom-you can't really see it here because it's in the window-but on the bottom, they use these plastic connectors, and now the plastic connectors, actually one of them snapped when I put it in. It's a little, thin piece of plastic. I mean, for around $60, I guess, what do you expect for an air conditioner? But this is a pretty small room, too, about 10 X 10. So it's about 120 square feet or so, 100 square feet, you know, including the closet, of course, which would be closed when I have it on. But, for the most part, I don't think this unit is powerful enough and definitely not cold enough. You've got to have it on 10 for a while to really, really cool everything down. So I'm guessing around a 6,000+ unit would be a lot better. This brand does seem to be in like all the ads everywhere. I see this brand everywhere. So it's obviously a good brand, from what I've read and everything. Just it needs a couple more options. I think it needs to get a little bit colder. It also is UL listed, and it was a pretty high rating for the Energy Star rating, I think around a 9.7, which if you go check out the Energy Star information, it is a pretty good rating for this size unit. So if you need something to cool down a relatively small room, I guess it would work, but you might want to look into spending a couple more dollars and upgrading to a higher BTU, so you can really, really chill it down, make it like a meat locker, if that's what you're looking for. If you're looking just to keep it cool and comfortable, then this unit would be great for an individual room or an apartment. And this is the Haier. I'm not sure -- there's no unit number on it, obviously, but it's their 5,200 one. It's the one that's out now. Just give it a shot. And like I said, the only thing, just beware of those plastic connectors and everything. It is a little flimsy on the bottom. So I think a lot of the brands are exactly like that. So check it out, the Haier 5,200 BTU air conditioning in-window unit.
Hello. i just bought this same model, open it up and try it to see if it works. I turned it on and wow the compressor makes a lot of noise. Is it normal for the compressor to be all noisy? If so, does the noise stays outside once you installed...
