Hello everyone. I saw American Gangster. This is a movie that is currently in theaters and it stars Denzel Washington as a heroin dealer named Frank Lucas. It is also about the guy who is assigned to bring him down. He is played by Russell Crowe and his name is Richie Roberts. He is made the head of a special task force which is assigned to learn about how the heroin dealer is bringing his product into the country and how he's distributing it and selling it and so on and so forth. It is an interesting movie; it wasn't great. It really didn't hook me until like maybe a third of the way through. The first third of the movie I was just kinda like Well this is kind of interesting. I didn't really get invested in the characters until this part where Josh Brolin who's also in it (he's also in No Country for Old Men which is a really good movie you should see that) he is in this movie. Josh Brolin is a corrupt cop that tells Denzel Washington's character that he has to pay him $10 000 at the beginning of every month; otherwise there'll be hell to pay. They kind of go back and forth in the movie in terms of just trying to make each other mad because Washington doesn't want to pay him and because Washington's trying to become this crime kingpin and he doesn't want to bend over for anyone basically. The performances are good. Denzel Washington was good; Russell Crowe was good; Brolin was good. Clarence Williams III was good for the little bit that he was in this movie in the beginning. He plays another gangster. It was an okay movie; it wasn't great. I wouldn't mind seeing it again; but I don't know if I'd buy it. Ridley Scott directed it. He directed Blade Runner and Thelma and Louise Matchstick Men Alien. It was a good movie; it wasn't great. The performances were fine. So it sounds like a movie it was a little long; it was I think maybe two and a half hours long. I think that they probably could have cut like maybe 15 20 minutes out of it. It was still a good movie and I certainly don't regret watching it. I will probably see it again sometime in the future.

I have to say I am a big Denzel Washington fan, but this one was just OK for me (LOL I sound like Randy Jackson from American Idol).
