This is my review for Barbershop the DVD. This movie is a comedy. It's a pretty funny movie. It stars Ice Cube Anthony Anderson Sean Patrick Thomas Eve and Cedric the Entertainer. The main star is Ice Cube. He plays a business owner. He owns a barbershop which has been in his family for a couple of generations and he -- I don't want to give away a lot of it but he is thinking about selling it because he doesn't really see the value in it but he later finds that out. Anthony Anderson at the beginning of the movie Anthony Anderson and these other guys steal an ATM but at the end of the movie they have a surprise to figure out or to find out. It's a pretty funny movie but there is one part that I don't like. It's -- they talk about Rosa Parks in a negative way and I thought that that was unnecessary. They could have cut that out at the DVDs even though they put it in there anyway. I thought that that was just unnecessary. They shouldn't have really said that. It wasn't funny but for the most part this is a very funny movie and I would definitely recommend it Barbershop.

Summary

With enough lively banter to keep its customers happy for years, Barbershop is a loose, lanky comedy with its heart--and its humor--in all the right places. Ice Cube plays Calvin, reluctant heir to his late father's barbershop on Chicago's South Side--a neighborhood institution that seems like a trap for a guy with bigger dreams. But Calvin is devoted to his employees and local customers, and when he makes an ill-considered deal with a loan shark (Keith David), the future of the barbershop hangs in the balance. There's a goofy subplot involving a stolen cash machine, but what gives Barbershop its abundant charm is its compassionate, feel-good vibe for its likable characters--not just scene-stealer Cedric the Entertainer (as Eddie the veteran barber, whose shaving lesson is a shining pearl of wisdom), but the entire well-chosen cast. It may seem like a lot of casual rap, but look and listen closely, and Barbershop will reward you with its danceable rhythms of life. --Jeff Shannon
