Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Reviewed on 07/26/07       Plays: 475

We saw this in IMAX. I would recommend watching it in a regular theater. The movie was not adapted well to fit the semi-circular IMAX screen. The movie followed the book well, but if you have not read teh book, it would be difficult to follow. Great action scenes, and the actors are growing into the parts well.

I wouldn't give it 100 five out of five stars but I would say definite four out of five stars. I am a Harry Potter purist so I was a lit disappointed that some stuff was left out and I do have to say this movie was two hours and this is her largest thickest most pages in a book so I really think in order to get the whole story line it really need to be a little bit longer and they need a little bit more details than story. I understand that story everything but of course but I've read this book twice already and I am ready to read the third time to prepare myself for reading the book seven. But as a Harry Potter purist the characters are spot on. I imagine her to be that evil and baddy and giggly and everything. She was great serious. He was also in some of the previous movies once again spot on and this Dumbledoor who is not you know I like the previous Dumbledoor who passed away much better but I have to say that in this episode this Dumbledoor man hate playing Dumbledoor did very well. The acting in the movies overall I would give it like a B- so you know you're not get A academy award winning actors and actresses necessarily in this movie but fantastic overall. It's a good kid's movie once again. Its get a little dark. Get a little harder for small children less a kid movie. I'm thinking 8 now. Little bit kids are not really for them so overall order of the Phoenix really good. I-- we saw at IMAX because you know last pick 15 minutes we're in 3B. I have to say that I would not see an IMAX again. If somebody gave me a choice knowing where I go now I will go see it right in the movie theater. It was hard to see an IMAX the entire view of everything going on. You couldn't see the peripheral very well and well actually I don't do well in IMAX. They gave me a headache but my husband who is huge fan of IMAX said he would prefer to see it in the movie there too so Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix I gave it a four out of five stars.
