Hi I'm Megan. This is Madagascar. This is Dreamworks computer animated picture. And it stars four animals from the New York City Zoo who break out of the zoo to try to save one of their friends but the people in Ney York think that they don't wanna live in captivity so they ship them off to a wild life preserved in Africa. But on the way they become ship right on the island of Madagascar. And this is all about them living on the wild for the first time really and realizing some of them are carnivores some of them aren't and the problems that arise from that. I think they did a really good job with the animals and the voices they assigned to them in the movie stars Ben Stiller Chris Rock David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett Smith. And they are really really funny as the animals that they're portraying. I think it' a really really cute. Here's a clip. So the movie also stars these really hilarious penguins and they're gonna to get to Antarctica because they know it just not natural for them living in captivity. So they've kinda like these covered military operation going on and they're really really funny. I like them. They're my favorite parts. The DVD also includes a short films staring the penguins which is a Christmas a Christmas short. So the film takes place in Christmas in New York and it's really really cute. I like these special features. They got a lot of good behind the scene stuff and I think you'll enjoy it.

Summary
The penguins steal the show. In the sprightly Madagascar , a mid-life crisis inspires Marty the Zebra (voiced by Chris Rock) to escape from his lifelong home, a New York zoo. His equally pampered friends--Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller), Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith), and Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer)--then escape to bring him back. Unfortunately, their attempt at damage control persuades zoo officials that the animals are unhappy, so all four get shipped to an animal preserve in Kenya...only a squad of maniacal penguins change the destination to Antarctica. The quartet end up on an island where, in addition to meeting some hedonistic lemurs, they learn about the food chain--and that Alex is a different link on the chain from the other three. Madagascar doesn't achieve the snappy perfection of a Pixar movie, but it tops most other computer-animated efforts; the collision of friendship and predator instincts makes for an unusually gripping conflict. The vocal performances of the central characters is serviceable, but Sacha Baron Cohen ( Da Ali G Show ) provides topnotch lunacy as the lemur king, and the penguins--voiced mostly by the animators themselves--are the best thing in the movie. --Bret Fetzer
