Hi I'm Jennifer and today I'm gonna review the action thriller The Bourne Identity. This is the first of the trilogy of movies and if you read a book and you're a fan of those you will definitely love this movie. But it's not necessary to have read a book in order to follow along. They did take pretty true to the book content which is really nice to see if you like to read the books first which I do. But this is a great great thriller. The premise is that Jason Bourne is a CIA spy who develops amnesia and forgets who he was and meanwhile there are contracts not to kill him because the CIA believes that he's gone rogue. So it follows through at his instincts in his previous life take over and he hasn't really remembered why or how or who these people are who want him killed. So it's really a very good very entertaining fast-pack action movie to watch. Great fun and very engrossing. This DVD version also has a new opening and a new ending. So you have your choice of the theatrical version or the new version that's only on the DVD. It's really fun to watch. There's also some great special features at the end where you can watch or not at the end. But on the other menus where you can see how they do the fight scenes and how they train choreograph for those. Really great I'd give this definite 5 stars. It's fun movie to add to your video collection you can watch it over and over. Thank you. Hope you enjoy it.

Summary
Freely adapted from Robert Ludlum's 1980 bestseller, The Bourne Identity starts fast and never slows down. The twisting plot revs up in Zurich, where amnesiac CIA assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), with no memory of his name, profession, or recent activities, recruits a penniless German traveler ( Run Lola Run 's Franka Potente) to assist in solving the puzzle of his missing identity. While his CIA superior (Chris Cooper) dispatches assassins to kill Bourne and thus cover up his failed mission, Bourne exercises his lethal training to leave a trail of bodies from Switzerland to Paris. Director Doug Liman ( Go ) infuses Ludlum's intricate plotting with a maverick's eye for character detail, matching breathtaking action with the humorous, thrill-seeking chemistry of Damon and Potente. Previously made as a 1988 TV movie starring Richard Chamberlain, The Bourne Identity benefits from the sharp talent of rising stars, offering intelligent, crowd-pleasing excitement from start to finish. --Jeff Shannon
