Hello Expo TV. This is a DVD review of Silence of the Lambs. This is from 1990. It's Rated R and it has two blockbuster actors actress in it Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster. This is about an individual Anthony Hopkins who's a serial murderer. And I can't lie in the movie. It's certainly dark and somewhat twisted. Not for the faint of heart so to speak just from a personal perspective of having it watch the movie. And just giving you some thoughts about it. But it certainly is a thinking person's movie. It's got an intense amount of drama and action suspense as well as just great individuals from an acting perspective. In just a moment I'm gonna show you Jodie Foster walking down prison row getting ready to dialogue with Anthony Hopkins as she's trying to glean information out of him and he's basically trying to taunt and instill fear in her. So in just a moment you will see Jodie Foster getting ready to dialogue with the diabolical Hannibal Lecter played by Anthony Hopkins. From Thomas Harris's Novel Director Jonathan Demme explodes and reconstructs a classic genre laying a foundation of emotional and political commitment beneath a perfectly constructed psychological thriller. Fourteen years after his controversial role in Taxi Driver Jodie Foster finally makes the transformation from helpless victim and now she kinda transformed in this movie into a rescuing hero in this dark gender bending fairy tale of an American obsession's serial murderer. As Hannibal quote unquote "Hannibal the Cannibal Lecter" played by Anthony Hopkins is the arch typical quick-witted antihero uncontrollable portrait of everything diabolical and gone wrong in society. This is the winner of five 1991 academy awards including Best Picture and Best Screenplay. And again this is a flick that like I said is not for the weak of heart but it really draws you into the movie it literally mesmerizes you and you just get captivated from beginning to end. So once again this is Silence of the Lamb. And for all you drama enthralled folks this would be a good collection--

Summary
Based on Thomas Harris's novel, this terrifying film by Jonathan Demme really only contains a couple of genuinely shocking moments (one involving an autopsy, the other a prison break). The rest of the film is a splatter-free visual and psychological descent into the hell of madness, redeemed astonishingly by an unlikely connection between a monster and a haunted young woman. Anthony Hopkins is extraordinary as the cannibalistic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter, virtually entombed in a subterranean prison for the criminally insane. At the behest of the FBI, agent-in-training Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) approaches Lecter, requesting his insights into the identity and methods of a serial killer named Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine). In exchange, Lecter demands the right to penetrate Starling's most painful memories, creating a bizarre but palpable intimacy that liberates them both under separate but equally horrific circumstances. Demme, a filmmaker with a uniquely populist vision ( Melvin and Howard , Something Wild ), also spent his early years making pulp for Roger Corman ( Caged Heat ), and he hasn't forgotten the significance of tone, atmosphere, and the unsettling nature of a crudely effective close-up. Much of the film, in fact, consists of actors staring straight into the camera (usually from Clarice's point of view), making every bridge between one set of eyes to another seem terribly dangerous. --Tom Keogh
