Pros: Inexpensive model, inexpensive ink, Can be used without the computer
Cons: Too many bugs in the software, Doesn't work as I hoped it would, Really needs another ink slot, so you don't have to choose between photo or text
This is my review of the HP photosmart C5280 all in one printer/ scanner/ copier. If only I had known about ExpoTv and done a little more research before purchasing! This is an inexpensive model, but it has a few bugs that make me regret the purcahse. The cd/dvd label printer does not and cannot print independantly of the computer. The software on the disc does not load properly, and causes problems on the computer. The ink, while very inexpensive, runs out very quickly. BUT- it is an inexpensive moel for an all in one. It does print a great high quality photo, and it cpoies quickly.

Hi I'm Melissa and this is my review of my HP Photosmart 5280 All-In-One Printer. Actually I bought this printer without doing a heck of a lot of research first and I kind of wish I had. It has a few bugs in it; it's really hard. The software that came on the disc actually didn't load properly. I had to load the driver from the website and it still has a few bugs. The DVD printer doesn't work very well. The good things about this is it's a very inexpensive model and the ink is very inexpensive. The ink is only about $25 for both the color and the black and you get a pretty good quality picture. So the printer can be used with or without a computer. You can just use the buttons here to navigate the screen to print out without a computer. It has all your memory card slots as well as the USB port so you don't even need a computer to print your pictures. You have your main photo tray; you have a separate 4" x 6" size photo tray. Then you have your label printer which unfortunately doesn't work independently as it should. Now one of the downfalls of this is that the ink runs out fairly quickly I don't use too much printing and I can run the ink in about a month. To change them the cartridges are really odd-shaped so it's very tricky to get in and out of there. You see you kind of got to put it in there and then flap it down. Then sometimes it doesn't go away and up quite as easily as you wish it would. Another downside is that you only have two ink cartridges. While they do have a different ink for text and for photo you would either have to switch them out or pick whichever one you like best. You have all of your feature buttons on the front here; so it is like I said you can use this without a computer. To use it as a scanner or a copier we're going to demo you the copier here. You just put your paper on the scanner bed here. You can choose either a black and white or a color picture. You can see it prints fairly quickly if you are just making a black and white copy. It is a lot slower if you print photos which actually I find to be a good feature. Because it gives the ink a little bit of time to dry before it just drops the next page down on top of it. So that's actually a feature that I like using it as a photo printer. Besides the copy menu you can also you have your scanner menu a special button for if you are copying photos. It does that at a higher quality. You see you can remove your red eye and do everything you need to do just on the bed so you don't even need to hook it up to your computer. Overall if I had to pick again I think I would definitely stick with a Canon printer or do a little more research. But this is a good inexpensive model and it works okay. This is the HP C5280 All-In-One Printer
