Hi I'm Jennifer and I'd like to talk you to about an accessory that we got for our little parakeet. It's a natural wood branch perch put out by Max and we got it pet smart. Cost around $4.00 or $5.00 and it's small kind. I got it because I'd read that for parakeet it's a good idea to have different textures and different size things for them to perch on because it's good for their feet. But as you can see right there the parakeet wants nothing to do with it. Occasionally I can make them don it but not very often. There you go. He won't stay very long usually not a bit fan of it unfortunately. He's only been with us for less than a month so maybe he'll get used to it and get to the point where he likes to stand a little bit more. I certainly hope so. One nice thing about this is it's really really easy to install. As you can see Pretty Boy's cage here has the horizontal flats on the side and it doesn't matter if you have horizontal or vertical it just screws right on. Very very easy to do. I had no problems. So that part I like about it. I just wish the bird liked it a little more. Actually this is the longest he has ever stayed on it and I think it's because he's on TV. Maybe he's just showing off for you I don't know. So get one there. It's not expensive and try it and see if your bird likes it. It's definitely healthy for their feet.
