Hi ExpoTV viewers Frank here with another travel destination review. Today we are gonna talk about Bermuda. One great thing about going to Bermuda is if you live anywhere on the East coast it's a short plane ride. From New York City the flight is just over an hour-and-a-half and you run another world. We went early in August. The weather was absolutely perfect mid-80s sunny and pleasant. The average temperature goes from around the mid-80s in the summer to the low 60s in the dead of winter with a relatively humidity between 70 and 80 . Their hurricane season runs from November to June so plan accordingly. We stayed at the Grotto Bay beach resort which is a 10-minute ride from the airport. The guest rooms were nicely appointed and clean. We have a small stretch of private beach which was well kept and the water was really clear. There was even a small shipwreck about 25 yards offshore that you can snorkel to and explore. Now although the crystal caves were not far from the resort there were some interesting caves right on the property that we've visited. The island is relatively small and the easiest way to get around is by bus. You can purchase a bus pass for the week which makes getting around very convenient. And the buses are clean air-conditioned and for the most part on schedule. Taxi cabs are another option but they can get very expensive. I would not recommend driving a car or moped unless you're from the UK because you need to drive on the left side of the road and most of the roads are narrow and windy. If you are not used to driving like this it can be very confusing and potentially dangerous. Stick with the bus. The bus pass for the week is around $45 and well worth it. We visited three towns; St. Georgia's Naval Dock yard and Hamilton. Each of these towns has docks for cruise ships which come in at various time during the week. St. Georgia's is quite and historical with small shops churches restaurants narrow streets and colonial town square where the historical society performs a Dunking of the Wenches script for tourist. You can also capture the last bottom boat where you can learn about the local sea life and the boat also gives you a great advantage point to take photos at St. Georgia's and port St. Catherine. Naval Dock yard is another historical site where you can walk through the big trolling yard where food was prepared for the old sailing ships. There is a shopping mall as well as outdoor shopping area where you can buy local crafts foods snacks not to mention some nice restaurants. From Naval Dock yard we took a ferry to Hamilton the capital of Bermuda. The ferry takes about an hour and is a relaxing way to get from point A to point B. You can take the sun you can shoot some photos you can read or just take it easy. By the way the pass that you used for the bus will also work for the ferry. Hamilton in relative terms is a bus lane metropolis. Aside from the governmental offices there are modern office buildings mixed in with some older architecture. There are churches hotels high-ends stores small shops bars and restaurants. Once a week when cruise ships are in town there is a street festival called Harbor Night where front street is closed off from vehicle traffic for about several blocks and local vendors set up on the streets to sell their wares food jewelry and craft. And of course there is free live entertainment. One draw back is that aside from Harbor Night everything pretty much shuts down around 5 p.m. Most stores are close on Sundays so you need to plan your activities accordingly. We would definitely go back to Bermuda but maybe on a cruise next times so we would have something exciting on board ship to do in the evenings. All in all Bermuda is a beautiful island where Hibiscus grew wild. Beaches like Horseshoe Bay are clean and refreshing. The sunrises are beautiful. The architecture is picturesque. The people are friendly. I highly recommend visit Bermuda and I'll give it a 4 out of 5.
